sweetheart poem Entangled Emotions

Invested time, countless tears,
timeless meanings through short term years.
I've given my all and patiently wait,
yet those who are blind, it's a pointless fate.

Yes I love you, I love you not,
a toss of the coin, a mind game's plot.
Decisions, pressures, such anger entails,
yet time in a bottle's to no avail.

Convenience the issue? Comfort for two,
commitment the outcast bids love adieu.
Entangled emotions, a foggy haze,
to go through the motions as tho in a daze.

Tomorrows are shorten, each passing day,
time slips away with games we play.
Chances are given to grab for the gold,
passing them up, means alone when we're old.

No man is an island altho he may try,
but deep in the heart the soul will cry.
Is it fear or pride that drives him on,
or haunts from his past that bring out the con?

An elusive butterfly floats free in the wind,
it won't be caught and it can't be pinned.
Try as we might, it's just out of reach,
no matter how much, its landing we seek.

To take on this battle's an endless plight,
and bringing it up just causes a fight.
I've accepted defeat with no ace to hold,
you can't fan the flames of a heart that is cold.
