God Bless America

In seventeen hundred seventy six,
on July fourth, this date depicts,
throughout the land on eagle's wing,
the bell did chime, let freedom ring.

On July fourth, two thousand five,
this holiday, once more, will come alive.
With flags of glory, stars and stripes,
"God bless America" will ring the pipes.

Fireworks, with pride, will paint the sky,
independence remembered the fourth of July.
We'll join together, both far and near,
in honor of history, that grateful year.

We'll salute founding fathers with rounds of applause,
never forgetting their fight for the cause.
Let liberty ring for the land of the free,
as some gave their lives for you and me.

With family and friends, we'll celebrate the day,
and mark the night with wondrous array,
but never forget our freedom's cost,
as I close with prayer for the lives we've lost.
