When we partake in laughter, the angels do sing
And smile from the heavens, with a tilt of their wings
From belly laughs to chuckles, it's not a hard sell
That once we're exposed, it's contagious as well

When laughter is present, it's during this time
That ponder and worry are turned on a "dime"
And while in the moment, the reins we let go
To bask in the feeling, with the heart all aglow

Laughter, they say, is the drug for the soul
With the healing of hearts as its primary goal
And for that very reason, I'll venture to say
That indulgence of humor keeps sadness at bay

Some say that laughter maintains a youthful heart
Unaltered from aging, when we choose to take part
There's one thing that's certain, we can't go wrong
In knowing that laughter's the universal "song"

From the laughter of children, that melts any heart
To the deep sounding bellow that gives us a "start"
And the giggle of a schoolgirl, while popping her gum
It's a far better choice than the flip side called glum
