Once again, it's that time of year,
there's joy in the air with happiness and cheer.
There're Christmas cards to write, there's Bobby and Sue,
as we make out our lists of things still to do.

We decorate our trees, with lights everywhere,
hanging our ornaments with such love and care.
There're icicles, tinsel and garland to strand
and when we are done it will all look so grand.

The mistletoe is hung, will we steal a kiss?
with that special someone how can we resist.
The tree lights will twinkle to brighten the sight,
like sprinkles of heaven to adorn the tree's night.

There's shopping to do and presents to wrap,
and little ones will whisper while on Santa’s lap.
It's a jolly time of year both far and near,
as loved ones will gather at this time of year.

The North Pole is buzzing as the elves work like bees,
they toil night and day for the little ones to please.
Carolers are singing, "jingle bells" and "deck the halls"
excitement spreads swiftly while we wait for Santa Claus.

There's rush in the season running here and running there,
making sure there's no oversight of those whom we care.
Yet I can't help but wonder about those who are without.
Are there any on our list? That's what Christmas is about.

There once were three wise men from so long ago,
who followed a star with it's bright guiding glow,
to bring gifts wrapped in love for the babe in swaddling clothes,
a thought worth remembering while the world is all aglow.
