Baby Sounds

I think of the baby sounds you'll never recall
Simply because you were very small;
These moments are etched into my mind
My three children, each one of a kind.

Your first words, first steps, and much more
Echo now, even louder than before;
Memories too precious to ever forget
So now and then, I walk through a door.

A door that takes me to times with you
A mother's love for you so true;
Laughter, tears, all part of growing
Never doubting our love, just always knowing.

Perhaps these baby sounds you now hear
As you hold your own child very near;
Guard every moment you have together
These little ones won't stay little forever.

So as I hold your little one
And sing the songs once sung to you;
Overcome the tears by laughter and fun
They, too, will be grown way too soon.
