Path

No matter what I do,
I was born to lose.
I travel this lonely road,
to where? Nobody knows.

As I travel it on onward,
am I really advancing foward,
or just walking in circles to nowhere?

I might make it to here or there,
but do I ever make it to my ultimate goal?
Am I gonna die alone and cold?

As I travel along,
I see you far down below.
I need you to walk with me,
to set my burdens free.

It's a long walk back,
down the path.
I need to do something fast,
before you pass me on by.

It's hard for me to do it,
and it scares me like hell.
I have to let go, I jump the rail,
and hope you'll look up in time,
and catch me before I hit and die.
