Sitting here staring out into the rain
Realizing that I have loved in vain
If I am to be honest I knew from the start
I would never hold that special spot in his heart
Have you ever wanted so badly to make ones dreams come true?
Only to realize their dreams do not involve you
Yet you would give almost any thing see that smile
Sending them all your love across the miles
Although many people do not see
What a cherished friend he is to me
They do not see the heart and soul
The caring part that's worth more than gold
So as I look back now I see
The pain I feel is worth it to me
To have met someone so warm and true
Who may not love me like I want him to
But offers me all the he can
The warm friendship of a caring man
