The Cat and the Moon

The black cat sat on the lawn,
He yearned to leap to where the shy moon lay;
The black cat sat on the lawn,
Wishing he had wings to fly to the sky.

The shy moon was to busy to have visitors,
She told the cat she could not come down;
The shy moon was to busy to have visitors,
She had to keep the sky alight.

The black cat, now, was very sad,
He sat and stared at the shy moon;
The black cat, now, was very sad,
he began to walk away toward the willow tree.
